yin yoga

Yin Yoga has the same goals and objectives as all other styles yoga. Yin Yoga targets the connective tissues - the ligaments, bones, and the joints of the body that normally are not exercised very much in a more active (yang) asana practice. Yin Yoga is a great complement to othe styles of yoga that emphasize internal heat, and the lengthening and contracting of our muscles.

Suitable for all levels.

basics

Lets face it...we've all gotta start somewhere, right?
This class will cover the basics of the fundamental poses, rotating the focus on a monthly basis: week 1: standing poses; week 2: forward bends; week 3: back bends; and week 4: inversions...putting it all together and turning it upside down.

This class moves towards a vinyasa or flowing practice that links breath with movement and is definitely suitable for beginners as well as the seasoned practitioner who wants to review alignment and slow it all down for a while...whew!

You will be given all the ingredients to move into all-level flow classes safely with confidence and correct alignment.

The Jivamukti Yoga method is a physically and intellectually stimulating practice leading to spiritual awareness. It is one of nine internationally recognized styles of Hatha Yoga.

Jivamukti Yoga is one of the nine internationally recognized styles of Hatha Yoga, and is based on the following 5 Tenets:

1. Scripture: Exploration of the foundational texts of yoga
2. Bhakti: Cultivation of devotion and humility
3. Ahimsa: Peaceful lifestyle that emphasizes the integration of ethical vegetarianism
and environmental sustainability
4. Nada Yoga: Deep listening, chanting, elevated music
5. Meditation: Connecting to inner stillness and understanding the mechanics of the mind

Knowledge + experience of sun salutations and basic asanas highly recommended ...though we know of a few adventurous beginners who have LOVED this class!

couples yoga date night

Partner yoga is fun and meaningful way to spend time together.
By breaking down the imaginary borders between us,
It helps us connect and find intimacy.
By letting another person stretch us beyond our normal limits,
we learn to trust and surrender.
We explore how far we are willing to go and where we are resisting.
If we can trust and let go, we can go much deeper,
find more balance, and be stronger with the help of a partner.
Partner yoga enhances non-verbal communication skills
as we work together to
Lead and be lead,
Support and be supported,
Open and be opened,
Touch and be touched.
We move together.
We breath as one.
We laugh,
we giggle,
And most importantly
we have lots of Fun!

All levels are welcome.
